CITY BUSINESS LICENSE REGISTRATION AKA CITY TAX
WHO HAS TO FILE?
Anyone who is SELF-EMPLOYED, EVEN IF YOU REPORT NO GROSS INCOME
Anyone who receives any money for rent - whether for office space, building, equipment, kit rental, anything - needs to check the filing rules with the city they live in.
IF YOU STARTED A NEW BUSINESS this year, you should have obtained your Business Tax Registration already.
Be sure to save a copy of your application and acceptance and email a copy to us.
WHEN IS THE DEADLINE?
| Los Angeles | February 28th |
| Beverly Hills | February 28th |
| Culver City | February 28th |
| West Hollywood | May 1st |
| Pasadena | May 31st |
| Santa Monica | August 1st |
Check with your city if not listed above
Failure to file before the deadline will result in aggressive (and annoying!) collection efforts with penalty and interest (and expense for us to fix it for you!)
